Mother’s Day 2025, 2026 and 2027
Mother’s Day in Finland is celebrated on the second Sunday in May. It is an official flag day, meaning that the Finnish flag must be flown from public buildings on this day.

The traditional way to honour Mum on Mother’s Day is to bring her breakfast in bed or perhaps cake and coffee in bed. Many children will also assist more with housework and meal preparation on this day. And it is traditional for kids to pick wild white roses and give them to their mother on Mother’s Day as well.
Other common ways of celebrating include children giving their mother a gift, a card, and a nice meal at a café or restaurant.
Beginning in 1946, The Order of the White Rose has given out special award medals to “exceptional” mothers throughout the country.
